浄運寺

The Joun Temple is a Buddhist temple in Himeji featuring two pagodas that showcase traditional Japanese Buddhist architectural design and construction methods. The complex includes a Main Hall, a Daikodo prayer building, and multiple structures displaying craftsmanship throughout the grounds.

The temple grounds can be explored on foot at your own pace across multiple areas and buildings spread throughout the site. Wearing comfortable shoes is recommended since the pathways cross uneven terrain between the various structures.

The temple contains a rare Buddha's Footprint Stone, an uncommon artifact found in Japanese temple collections. A dedicated monument beside this stone displays verses that explain the spiritual significance the community assigns to this sacred object.
