Mizonokuchi Station, Railway interchange station in Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki, Japan.
Mizonokuchi is a railway interchange in Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki, Japan, where the Den-en-toshi Line and Oimachi Line meet above street level. The elevated tracks run over two island platforms connected by stairs and lifts to the entrance concourses below.
The facility opened on July 15, 1927, under the management of Nambu Railway and served only local connections at first. After transfer to the Japanese Government Railway in 1944, later rebuilds expanded capacity and added more lines.
The station serves as a central transportation hub where thousands of students and workers converge daily, reflecting Japanese commuting patterns.
More than 210,000 passengers use the two lines here each day, so expect crowds during morning and evening peak hours. Ticket machines and lockers are available in the entrance areas, and signage is in Japanese and English.
The spelling of the name changed in 1966 from the traditional form 溝ノ口駅 to the more modern version 溝の口駅, although both variants preserve the same sound. Some signs and maps in the surrounding area still use the older spelling today.
