Train and Bus Museum, Transportation museum at Miyazakidai Station, Japan.
The Train and Bus Museum is a transportation museum in Miyazaki, Japan, focused on railway and bus development. The building spans three floors and houses historic vehicles, models, and interactive displays dedicated to the history of public transit.
Tokyu Corporation opened the museum on April 3, 1982, to document the development of Japanese transport systems. Since then it has served as an archive for vehicles and models that trace changes in passenger and freight movement.
The collection shows how trains and buses shaped urban life in Japan, with displays that reveal how vehicle design and passenger service evolved over time. Visitors can see how public transport connected neighborhoods and helped shape daily routines.
Entry costs 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for children. The museum opens Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sundays from 9:30 am.
Visitors can operate a simulator that replicates an 8090 series train, available for 300 yen per session. This hands-on experience gives an impression of cab routines and how drivers manage brakes, throttles, and signals.
