Kyūdai-Gakkentoshi Station, Elevated railway station in Nishi-ku, Japan.
Kyūdai-Gakkentoshi Station is an elevated passenger terminal in Fukuoka that rises above the surrounding neighborhood on a single island platform. The station operates two tracks on the Chikuhi Line, part of the JR Kyushu railway network serving the western districts of the city.
The station opened in 2005 and expanded rail access along the existing Chikuhi Line in the western part of the prefecture. Since its opening, it has served as a key transit point for commuters and travelers in this area.
The station name reflects its connection to Kyushu University, though the campus stands 4 kilometers northwest of the transportation hub.
The station stands out because of its elevated structure and central location in the Nishi-ku district. From here, travelers can reach downtown Tenjin with relative ease by switching to subway or other JR rail lines.
During fiscal year 2020, the station recorded 6,531 daily passengers, securing its position as the nineteenth most frequented JR Kyushu station.
