Sky Dream Fukuoka, Ferris wheel in Nishi-ku, Japan.
Sky Dream Fukuoka is a 120-meter ferris wheel with climate-controlled cabins located above the Evergreen Marinoa complex in Nishi-ku. Each cabin accommodates passengers as they rotate slowly, providing views of the city and surrounding landscape below.
The wheel was constructed in 2001 and initially held the title of Japan's tallest ferris wheel. It operated for eight years before being relocated to Taiwan in 2009.
The structure serves as a landmark for the Evergreen Marinoa entertainment complex, giving visitors a reason to explore the broader resort facilities around it. It functions as a gathering point where both tourists and locals come to take in views from above and enjoy the leisure area.
The wheel features wheelchair-accessible cabins for visitors with mobility needs. A full rotation takes approximately 20 minutes, allowing time to take in the views at a relaxed pace.
Unlike many other ferris wheels, Sky Dream was known for its deliberately slow rotation speed. This leisurely pace allowed riders to fully relax while ascending and descending through the ride.
