Shiroyama Park

Shiroyama Park is a wooded park built on a hill with numerous pathways marked by stone monuments throughout the grounds. Views of the Japanese Alps and the city of Takayama are visible from various vantage points within the space.

The grounds once contained Takayama Castle, which was dismantled in 1695 by local rulers. Stone foundations and walls from the former structure remain scattered among the trees today.

The entrance features a statue of Kanamori Nagachika, a significant local leader from the area's past. The Shorenji Temple within the grounds connects visitors to the region's spiritual traditions.
