Sasashima-Komeno Pedestrian Bridge, Land bridge in Nakamura-ku, Japan.
The Sasashima-Komeno Pedestrian Bridge is a steel and concrete structure spanning 156 meters across multiple railway lines including the Aonami Line, JR Kansai Main Line, and Kintetsu Nagoya Line. Two elevators provide access to the 4-meter wide walkway for pedestrians crossing the railways.
The bridge opened in September 2011 as part of urban planning to connect the area through Tsubaki Town Line. The project was designed to link two growing districts separated by multiple railway tracks.
The name combines two elements: Sasashima from the Aonami Line station and Komeno from the northern Kintetsu station, reflecting local railway heritage.
The bridge connects the Taiko area with Sasashima Live 24 district and features elevators for accessible crossing. The open walkway makes it easy to navigate across the railway lines below.
Construction required one of Japan's largest crawler cranes capable of lifting 1200 tons to position girders above the busy Kintetsu Nagoya Line. This massive equipment was essential for placing structural elements in such a constrained space.
