Oasis Park, Recreational park in Kakamigahara, Japan
Oasis Park is a recreational park in Kakamigahara, Gifu Prefecture, featuring a Ferris wheel, a freshwater aquarium, open grass areas, and water play zones. The park sits right next to the Kawashima Service Area on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway, making it easy to reach by car.
The park grew out of the Kiso Three Rivers National Government Park project, which linked flood control infrastructure along the Kiso River with public green spaces. That connection between water management and recreation still shapes how the park is laid out today.
The park hosts seasonal events throughout the year, such as autumn cycling gatherings and winter celebrations featuring local food and crafts. Visitors experience how communities gather here to share regional traditions.
Free parking is available on site, which makes it easy for families or groups arriving by car. Visiting on a weekday tends to mean fewer crowds, especially around the water play areas and the aquarium.
One of the most talked-about features is a fish-shaped play structure that stretches about 65 meters (213 ft) long, fitted with slides, periscopes, and bell swings inside its body. It is one of the few play structures of this shape and scale found in Japan.
