The Kume Museum of Art occupies the eighth floor of the Kume Building, displaying Western-style paintings and historical artifacts from the Meiji period.
Founded in October 1982, this museum commemorates historian Kunitake Kume and his son Kiichiro Kume, who studied painting in France during the 1880s.
The collection features works by Kiichiro Kume alongside pieces from other Japanese artists who contributed to Western painting techniques in Japan.
Located two minutes from Meguro Station's West Exit, the museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday through Sunday between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The museum holds personal items and paintings from Kiichiro Kume's time in France, including his work 'The Sea Brehat' and 'Kiyomizu Temple'.
