信玄橋

The Shingen Bridge stretches across Lake Nakaumi, connecting Sakaiminato in Tottori Prefecture with Eshima in Shimane Prefecture over a distance of 1.7 kilometers.

The construction of the bridge, completed in 2004, replaced a previous drawbridge that limited traffic to vehicles under 14 tons and caused frequent delays for ship passages.

The bridge structure represents Japanese engineering expertise through its rigid-frame design, making it the largest of its type in Japan and third largest worldwide.

The structure features different gradients on each side, with a 6.1 percent slope on the Shimane side and a 5.1 percent incline on the Tottori side.

The bridge reaches a height of 44.7 meters and includes a main span of 250 meters, allowing ships to pass underneath without interrupting vehicle traffic.
