Kure Municipal Museum of Art, Art museum in Irifuneyama Park, Kure, Japan
The three-story building features Japanese tiled roofs and brick-colored hexagonal tiles embedded in walls surrounded by natural woodland and sculptures.
The Kure Municipal Museum of Art opened its doors in August 1982, establishing itself as a primary cultural institution in the Hiroshima Prefecture.
The museum collection includes 919 works from Japanese and international artists, including pieces by Bourdelle and Renoir displayed throughout the year.
Located 10 minutes from JR Kure Station, the museum opens from 10 AM to 5 PM and charges 300 yen for adults, with parking available at 100 yen per hour.
The museum connects to Bijutsukan Dori, a tree-lined avenue recognized among Japan's 100 Best Roads, featuring 17 sculptures along its length.
