Ōno Lighthouse, Maritime navigation aid in Kanazawa, Japan.
Ōno Lighthouse is a square concrete tower standing about 26 meters tall on the coast of Kanazawa with bright white exterior walls. It emits white light that can be seen from considerable distances to guide maritime traffic effectively.
A wooden signal structure was first built in 1878 and funded by shipowner Asakan Shichi to guide vessels in the area. The present concrete tower took over this function in 1934 and has served the maritime community since then.
The lighthouse forms part of the distinguished collection of 50 Lighthouses in Japan, representing the maritime heritage of the Ishikawa Prefecture region.
You can view and photograph the exterior of the lighthouse at any time throughout the year without restrictions. Access to the interior is limited to special events when it opens for guided tours or celebrations.
The light pattern follows a specific sequence, emitting white flashes every 10 seconds across an arc ranging from 36 to 216 degrees.
