Onagawa Town General Sports Park

Onagawa Town General Sports Park is a sports facility in Onagawa featuring multiple athletic spaces spread across the grounds. The park includes an athletic field, gymnasium, baseball diamond, and multipurpose courts arranged across the site.

The park was substantially rebuilt after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, during which it had served as a temporary parking area for military personnel. This reconstruction transformed it into a modern hub for local athletics.

The facility functions as a central location for physical education classes, school sports days, and community athletic tournaments throughout the year.

The park is located roughly a 10-minute walk from JR Onagawa Station or about 40 minutes by car from Ishinomaki-Kanan Interchange. Visitors can easily reach it using public transportation or personal vehicles.

The main field received artificial turf in 2014, significantly improving the versatility of the sports facility. This upgrade allows for year-round use across multiple sports regardless of weather conditions.
