Odawara Blueway Bridge

The Odawara Blueway Bridge spans 270 meters across the Seisho Bypass with three sections measuring 73.3, 122, and 73.3 meters respectively.

The bridge opened in 1994 as one of Japan's first extradosed bridges, introducing a new construction method that combines prestressed concrete with cable-stayed support systems.

The bridge reflects Japanese engineering principles of combining structural efficiency with earthquake resistance, demonstrated through its innovative design and construction methods.

The dual-lane bridge rises 20 meters above ground level, allowing maritime vessels to pass underneath while connecting traffic along the coastal Seisho Bypass route.

Six stays on each side support the central span, equipped with specialized dampers to control cable vibrations in the structure.
