The Textbook Library houses over 142,000 educational materials, including 57,500 authorized textbooks and 31,000 teaching manuals for Japanese schools.
Established on November 8, 1977, this specialized library began collecting and preserving textbooks from 1949 onward as part of the Textbook Research Center.
The collection includes 29,000 textbooks and teaching guides from 46 different countries, reflecting various educational approaches and methodologies worldwide.
Located on the second floor of the Textbook Research Center, the library operates Monday through Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, requiring advance reservations.
The facility maintains 7,200 pre-1946 educational materials and 1,600 microfiche records, documenting the evolution of Japanese education systems.
