Old Tokushima Castle Omotegoten Garden, Daimyo garden in Tokushima Central Park, Japan
The Old Tokushima Castle Omotegoten Garden features traditional Japanese landscaping with a pond, stone bridges, and meticulously arranged rock formations.
Ueda Soko, a distinguished tea ceremony master, designed this garden around 1600 as part of the residence for the Hachisuka family rulers.
The garden incorporates both karesansui dry landscape and tsukiyama hillside fountain styles, demonstrating classical Japanese garden design principles.
Located at 1-9 Tokushimacho-jonai, the garden opens daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with admission fees of 50 yen for adults.
The garden contains a remarkable single-piece bridge made of green chlorite schist stone measuring 10.5 meters in length.
