Sendan-todoro no Taki, 70-meter waterfall in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan

Sendan-todoro no Taki creates a vertical water column that falls into an 8-meter wide basin before flowing into the Nishinoiwa River system.

The waterfall received its name from a sandalwood tree that once grew near its location, combined with the word todoro meaning thundering sound.

This natural formation holds a position among Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls, representing the natural heritage of the Kyushu-Chuo Sanchi region.

Visitors can observe the waterfall from multiple angles using the suspension bridge that spans across the upper section of the falls.

The water from Sendantodoro flows through the Kawabe River system, eventually reaching the East China Sea through the Yatsushiro inlet.
