Mizuno Museum of Art

The Mizuno Museum of Art features modern Japanese paintings and seasonal exhibitions in a building with a Japanese garden in Nagano Prefecture.

The museum was established in July 2002 from the collection of the Hokuto Corporation president to promote Japanese art in the Nagano region.

The museum displays regular exhibitions of Japanese paintings, including works by Taikan Yokoyama, and offers reduced entry fees for visitors wearing kimonos.

Located 7 kilometers from Nagano IC, the museum opens from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM and provides parking facilities for visitors arriving by car.

The museum presents an annual New Year's Painting Contest that divides artworks into red and white categories, following traditional Japanese color symbolism.
