Ikeda Masuo Art Museum

The Ikeda Masuo Art Museum displays paintings, prints, sculptures, and ceramics created by the Japanese artist throughout his multifaceted career spanning several decades.

The museum opened its doors in April 1997, following the death of Masuo Ikeda, who created works in multiple mediums from 1934 until his passing.

The collection demonstrates Japanese artistic innovation through Ikeda's prints, which earned international recognition at exhibitions in Paris, Ljubljana, Cracow, Vienna, and Venice.

Visitors can participate in guided tours, workshops, and educational programs that explore the techniques and methods used in Ikeda's artistic creations.

The museum received the Good Design Award in 1998, recognizing its contribution to preserving the legacy of the first Japanese artist with a solo exhibition at MoMA.
