Kumagai Kaya Tsukechi Gallery, Art and biographical museum in Tsukechicho, Japan

Kumagai Kaya Tsukechi Gallery displays oil paintings, ink paintings, and calligraphy created by artist Morikazu Kumagai in rotating exhibitions throughout the year. The space occupies a traditional residential building that once served as the painter's home and working quarters.

The building was originally the residence of painter Morikazu Kumagai until his death in the late 1970s. The space was later converted into a museum to preserve and display his body of work for public viewing.

The museum maintains a collection of 153 artworks donated to Toshima City, forming the foundation of the present Kumagai Moriichi Museum of Art.

The museum is housed in a converted residential building with intimate spaces and lower ceilings in some areas, so visitors should move carefully. The location is close to public transportation, making it easy to reach and worth planning as part of a broader neighborhood walk.

The building preserves the artist's original studio space where he created his works, and visitors can still observe the actual environment where his creative process unfolded. This direct connection between the person, the space, and the artwork creates a more personal viewing experience.
