Mount Okusangai

Mount Okusangai rises to 1,810 meters and borders the municipalities of Nakatsugawa, Nagiso, and Okuwa in central Japan. Multiple hiking trails lead to the summit through forested slopes and past various plant communities.

The mountain lies near the ancient Nakasendo trade route, which connected Kyoto and Edo during Japan's feudal period. The area was long a crucial passage point for travelers and merchants on this historical connection.

The mountain is part of the collection of Gifu's 100 Mountains, a recognized list that honors the region's natural diversity. Visitors can discover different plant species and typical mountain landscapes of the area while ascending.
