Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts

The Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts holds a collection of 32,000 prints spanning from the eighth century to contemporary works in multiple exhibition spaces.

The museum, designed by architect Hiroshi Ōune, opened its doors on April 19, 1987, establishing itself as a specialized institution for printmaking art in Tokyo.

The museum maintains dedicated print studios and workshops where artists create new works while visitors learn about various printmaking techniques through demonstrations.

Located within Serigaya Park, the museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Friday between 10:00 and 17:00, and extends hours until 17:30 on weekends.

The Hi-Vision Gallery presents eight different video programs that detail the evolution and techniques of Japanese hanga prints through digital presentations.
