浄運寺, Buddhist temple in Machida, Japan.
The temple grounds contain a stone path leading to the main hall, featuring twelve animal zodiac statues positioned along both sides of the walkway.
Founded in 1577 by Buddhist monk Nichimei, the temple was officially established in 1637 under the patronage of the Muto family in Machida.
The temple enshrines Bishamonten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Haramachida, reflecting traditional Japanese Buddhist religious practices and beliefs.
Located in central Machida, the temple maintains regular visiting hours and welcomes visitors interested in exploring its grounds and architectural features.
The temple displays a collection of whimsically designed zodiac animal statues that correspond to specific years in the traditional lunar calendar.
