かしの木山自然公園

Kashinokiyama Nature Park is an approximately 5.5 hectare protected natural area in Machida featuring extensive oak forests where Shirakashi, Kunugi, and Konara trees grow. These woodlands provide habitat for birds and insects and make the park an important local spot for nature observation.

The park was opened in 1988 as an urban planning project by Machida to provide residents with space for nature experiences. The Forest House center followed shortly after and expanded the site with educational programs.

The visitor center Forest House hosts regular nature observation activities where people can learn about the local environment and its inhabitants. The space serves as a meeting point for anyone interested in understanding the natural world around Machida.

The park is open daily for visitors to explore at their own pace and enjoy the trails at different times of year. There is no parking on site, so plan alternative ways to arrive or consider walking from nearby areas.

From the elevated trails in the park, visitors can see both distant mountain ranges and the city of Machida spread below. This view offers a surprising perspective on how nature and urban surroundings connect.
