福井市文化会館, Performing arts center in Fukui, Japan.
The Fukui City Cultural Hall is a performance venue with four above-ground floors and one basement level, originally designed to host theater productions, concerts, and cultural exhibitions. The main auditorium could accommodate more than 1000 spectators for various types of artistic events.
The venue opened in 1968 and served the community for more than five decades as a center for cultural events. Its closure in 2021 resulted from structural concerns related to earthquake safety standards.
Throughout its operational years, the venue hosted numerous theatrical productions, classical music concerts, ballet performances, and local artistic exhibitions.
The location sits near Jinai Joshi High School Station and can be reached by local bus services. Visitors should note that the building has been closed since 2021 and is no longer accessible to the public.
The building structure covers 5,439 square meters and occupies a significant location near the Fukui District Court and Otani Branch of Jodo Shinshu.
