The establishment of Sagamihara Asamizo Park in November 1985 marked a significant expansion of public recreational spaces in Kanagawa Prefecture during Japan's economic growth.
The park hosts regular seasonal celebrations, including the June Iris Festival, which draws visitors to admire traditional Japanese flower arrangements and botanical displays.
Visitors can access the park from Haradaruma Station with a 20-minute walk or take a bus from Sagami-Ono Station to the Joshibi University of Art and Design stop.
The Field Athletics area features 19 different exercise stations, while the Animal Interaction Plaza allows children to ride ponies and meet small animals.
