Alve, Office building next to JR Akita Station, Japan
Alve is a modern office building next to JR Akita Station, standing 14 stories tall and reaching about 62 meters in height. The structure houses an exposition hall, cinema, restaurants, and community gathering spaces all within the same complex.
The building was designed by architectural firms Nikken Sekkei and Taisei Corporation and opened to the public on June 1, 2004. It was created as part of the ongoing development around Akita Station to serve local residents and visitors.
The building features displays about the Kanto Festival, with a replica decorated in paper lanterns that shows visitors how the traditional dance is performed.
The ground floor provides multiple tables, chairs, restaurants, and a convenience store, creating an easy gathering space for students and visitors to rest and meet. The location directly beside the train station makes it straightforward to access and explore the various facilities inside.
A large mural at the main entrance depicts rice harvesting scenes that reflect the agricultural past of the Akita region. This artwork connects the building's modern function with local traditions and what the area has historically produced.
