立日橋, Combined road and monorail bridge in Tachikawa, Japan
The Tacchi Bridge crosses the Tama River, connecting Shibasaki-cho in Tachikawa with Hinohonmachi in Hino. This structure carries both road traffic and the tracks of the Tama City Monorail system in a shared span.
Construction finished in 1989 when the bridge first opened to road traffic. The monorail line was added a decade later in 2000, giving the bridge its dual purpose.
The bridge represents the evolution of Japanese transportation infrastructure, combining traditional road crossing with modern monorail technology in one structure.
You can reach the bridge from Shibasaki Sports Center Station or Koshu Street Station, both serving this transport corridor. Pedestrians and cyclists have access depending on the configuration of designated pathways.
Before the construction of nearby Hino Bridge in 1926, the location was home to Hino-no-Watashi, a historical river crossing point.
