Sekiguchi Bashōan, Literary residence in Sekiguchi, Tokyo, Japan.

Sekiguchi Bashōan stands near Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, featuring a traditional garden with a pond fed by natural spring water.

The original structure served as a guardhouse called Ryugean until 1677, when poet Matsuo Bashō lived there while supervising Kanda Waterworks improvements.

The residence holds manuscripts and letters from Matsuo Bashō's time, reflecting the development of Japanese poetry during the Edo period.

The residence opens from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, remains closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and offers free entry to visitors.

Several trees from Bashō's era, including large ginkgo trees and white plum blossoms, continue to grow in the garden.
