Nagao-ji, Buddhist temple on the Shikoku Henro pilgrimage in Sanuki, Japan
The Nagao-ji temple complex includes a main hall, flanked by the Daishido Hall on the right and the Gomado Hall on the left.
Founded in 739 by monk Gyoki, who carved a Sho Kannon statue from a willow tree after receiving a divine message at this location.
The temple hosts the Daieyo Fuku Ubai event where participants receive wooden tags and participate in traditional ceremonies throughout the year.
Visitors can access multiple structures within the temple grounds, including the Sanmon Gate, Sutra Tower, Main Hall, Daishi Hall, and Yakushido Hall.
The temple grounds contain a shrine holding a strand of hair from Shizuka Gozen, Minamoto no Yoshitsune's concubine who trained as a nun here.
