Nagaoka War Damage Exhibit Hall

The Nagaoka War Damage Exhibit Hall displays artifacts, photographs, and documents illustrating the effects of World War II on the local population.

The museum opened on July 12, 2003, to preserve the memory of devastating air raids that Nagaoka experienced during the final months of World War II.

Exhibition halls present testimonies and personal narratives from residents who experienced the wartime period, connecting generations through shared historical experiences.

Located at 2 Chome-6-17 Jonaicho, the museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with guided tours available.

The museum features a reconstruction of a typical 1940s Japanese sitting room, complete with period-specific wooden architecture and tatami floor mats.
