Seki Sword Tradition Museum

The museum displays traditional sword forging techniques through demonstrations, exhibits, and historical artifacts spanning 700 years of Japanese craftsmanship in Seki.

During the Kamakura period in 1185, Seki established itself as a primary sword manufacturing center, with over 300 swordsmiths working in the region.

The museum features monthly demonstrations where skilled swordsmiths forge steel using traditional methods passed down through generations of Japanese craftsmen.

Located at 9-1 Minamikasuga-cho, the museum opens from 9:00 to 16:30, charging 300 yen for adults and offering group discounts for parties over 20 people.

The facility houses recreations of swords from Japanese animation, connecting traditional craftsmanship with modern entertainment through specialized exhibitions.
