Rinsho-ji, Buddhist temple in Toyota, Japan
The Rinsho-ji temple complex contains several buildings with traditional Japanese architecture, including a main hall decorated with wooden carvings and painted scrolls.
Founded in 843 during the Heian period, Rinsho-ji has maintained its position as a religious center in the Nishi-Mikawa region of Aichi Prefecture.
The temple preserves the Yamagoshi Amida Zu, a painted hanging scroll measuring 112.6 centimeters in height, designated as a cultural property by Toyota City.
Visitors can reach Rinsho-ji by taking a short walk from the nearest public transportation stop and explore the temple grounds during regular opening hours.
The temple grounds feature a Mini Shikoku 88-Temple Route that allows pilgrims to complete a condensed version of the traditional pilgrimage in just two hours.
