高砂市総合体育館, Municipal sports complex in Takasago, Japan
Takasago City Gymnasium (高砂市総合体育館) is a municipal indoor sports facility in Takasago, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. It has courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis, as well as dedicated rooms for martial arts such as judo and kendo.
The facility was built as part of a broader effort by Hyogo Prefecture to provide its cities with public sports venues. It has since remained the main municipal training site in Takasago.
Judo and kendo groups meet here on a regular basis, using the tatami rooms that are dedicated to martial arts practice. Watching these sessions gives a clear sense of how embedded these disciplines are in everyday life in this part of Hyogo Prefecture.
The venue is open during the day and in the evening, so it fits both morning sessions and visits after work. Parking is available on site for those coming by car.
Inside the building there is a running track that anyone can use at no cost, with no need to book a court or join a class. This makes it one of the few spots in the city where you can simply walk in and exercise for free.
