鹿屋中央高等學校, Highschool in Japan
Kankoku Chuo High School is a private institution in Kanoya offering multiple pathways including general studies, science, practical skills, and athletic programs. The campus sits in a quiet residential area and houses a mix of older and newer buildings where around 740 students of both genders study daily.
Founded in 1968 as Kanoya Commercial High School, the institution was renamed in 1983 to its current name. Over the decades it expanded its curriculum and later added a human science department focusing on health and social skills to meet changing educational needs.
The school embodies the principles of truth, goodness, and beauty in its daily life and teaching philosophy. Students and teachers practice these values through their interactions and class work, creating a shared culture that guides behavior and decision-making throughout the school.
Most students arrive by bicycle, on foot, or by car since the nearest train station is quite far away. The school provides guidance about transportation options and school routines to help students navigate daily arrival and departure.
The school's volleyball team won a national championship tournament in the past, and the baseball team reached the national final of the summer tournament. These achievements have established the school's reputation in local sports circles and attract talented young athletes.
