糠田橋, Steel bridge in Kounosu, Japan
The Nukata Bridge is a steel bridge that crosses the Arakawa River in Saitama Prefecture, connecting two communities on either side. Its structure uses multiple spans and steel box girders to support the roadway above the water.
A ferry service once transported people across this river crossing before a wooden bridge was built in the 1950s. The modern steel structure later replaced it as a more permanent solution for river transport.
The bridge pillars incorporate design elements that reference local traditions, with one side depicting dolls from Kounosu and the other featuring tigers from Yoshimi Kannon.
The bridge carries traffic as a main road route connecting the two towns and serves as a backup emergency route for the region. Visitors can walk or drive across it, or view it from nearby vantage points along the riverbank.
The bridge deck transitions into a curved section on the right bank, supported by four points and overlooking the former river channel of Meishu Lake.
