北海道立噴火湾パノラマパーク

Hokkaido Funka Bay Panorama Park is a large recreational area spread across rolling hills with viewing points overlooking the bay and surrounding mountains. The property includes a full 36-hole golf course, a smaller 9-hole family course, camping facilities, and a visitor center.

The park opened in 2006 and marked an important shift in how recreational areas were developed in Hokkaido. It was among the first major projects to blend private business operations with public use of the land.

The park includes a working farm where visitors can help plant and harvest seasonal crops using traditional Japanese methods. This hands-on experience demonstrates how local people have connected with agriculture for generations.

The visitor center is open on weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00 and provides information about all park activities. It is best to arrive early to enjoy the viewing points without crowds and to have time for multiple activities.

The park features a 'Creating Forest Together' program where visitors can participate in tree planting to directly support forest restoration. This initiative lets people connect their visit with a hands-on environmental project.
