Anan city hall

The Anan City Hall consists of a modern six-story structure with large windows, integrating administrative offices and public meeting spaces across 20,704 square meters.

The municipal building, completed in 2017, represents the evolution of Anan from its origins as a fishing village to an industrial center in Tokushima Prefecture.

The city hall includes the Anan Forum, which serves as a meeting point where municipal officials and residents participate in community discussions and local events.

Visitors access administrative services on multiple floors, with a first-floor cafe providing refreshments and a second-floor space designated for remote workers.

The building received the Annual AIJ Architectural Select Design Prize in 2019 for incorporating natural light and locally sourced materials in its construction.
