Suijō Park, Urban park in Gyoda, Japan
Suijō Park is an urban park in Gyoda featuring multiple ponds: a colored carp pond, Shinobu Pond, and Aoino Pond connected by grass-covered walking paths. The layout creates a simple route where visitors move from one water feature to the next while walking through open ground.
This park opened in 1964 and incorporates the remaining moats and wetlands from the former Oshi Castle that occupied this land. The water features preserve what was left after the castle disappeared.
The grounds serve as a central gathering space where residents participate in seasonal celebrations and community activities throughout the year.
The park is accessible by bus from Gyoda Station or on foot from Gyodashi Station on the Chichibu Railway line. These connection points make it easy to include in a day trip or local visit.
The park features water hyacinth flowers that bloom during autumn, creating natural patterns across the surface of the ponds.
