Renkyō-ji, Buddhist temple in Takabari district, Nagoya, Japan

Renkyō-ji features traditional wooden structures with carefully maintained gardens, a turtle pond, and a collection of giant bamboo across its grounds.

The temple dates back to the late 16th century when Oda Nobuyuki constructed it to honor his father Oda Nobuhide, before relocating to its current location in 1714.

The temple follows the Sōtō Zen sect traditions, offering meditation sessions and educational programs about Buddhist practices to both local residents and visitors.

The temple welcomes visitors through its nearest access point at Motoyama Station on the Higashiyama Subway Line, near Nagoya University.

A 10-meter-tall statue known as The Great Buddha of Nagoya stands within the temple grounds since its installation in 1987.
