猪高緑地, Urban forest park in Nagoya, Japan.
Itaka Green Space is an urban forest park covering about 66 hectares in eastern Nagoya. The site contains multiple ponds, dense woodland, and walking paths through rolling terrain with varied plant zones.
The woodland zone was protected as a response to rapid urban growth in Nagoya after World War II. Preserving this natural area became important to protect local wildlife from expanding city development.
The area includes rice paddies and bamboo groves that show traditional farming methods still present in this region. Visitors can observe how seasonal changes affect the vegetation and how local plants have shaped the landscape.
The park is accessible by foot with two main walking routes of different lengths and difficulty levels. Comfortable shoes and water are important year-round since the ground can be damp and the paths have varying elevation changes.
A notable north-south trail connects different sections of the park passing by Tsukanokire Pond and Sekobo bamboo forest. This route offers varied experiences with changing landscapes that visitors often miss when exploring the park for the first time.
