Kurayoshi Figure Museum

The Kurayoshi Figure Museum is housed in a round building with three floors displaying collections that range from dinosaurs and animals to anime characters. The exhibition spans multiple levels, each presenting different types of figures and related collectibles.

The building was constructed in 1955 as an elementary school and served that purpose for many years before being converted into a museum. The transformation of this former school space reflects how structures can be repurposed for new cultural roles.

The museum demonstrates how collecting figures has become part of daily life for many people in Japan. On display are meticulously painted models that reflect the dedication collectors bring to their hobby.

The museum is open regularly and visitors can explore all three floors at their own pace. Interactive workshops are available where you can learn about and participate in the creation of figures and food models.

Visitors have the chance to create their own figures during workshops and observe the detailed steps involved in manufacturing. This hands-on experience reveals why the craft appeals to so many enthusiasts.
