Mississauga Park, Urban park in Kariya, Japan.
Mississauga Park is an urban park in Kariya with landscaped areas, walking paths, and recreational zones arranged around a central clock tower. The grounds combine open lawns with play and sports areas for visitors of different ages.
The park was founded in 2001 and symbolizes the partnership between Kariya and the Canadian city of Mississauga, which began 2 decades earlier. The project arose from a desire to bring this international friendship to life in a physical space.
The park displays elements from both Japanese and Canadian garden traditions. Visitors can find plants from both countries along the pathways, reflecting the special bond between the two cities.
The park is open daily from early morning until 11 PM, so visitors can plan their visit with flexibility. The paths are easy to walk and the different recreational areas are clearly marked.
At the center stands a functioning clock tower modeled after Mississauga's City Hall in miniature form. The structure draws many visitors especially at sunset, who come here to photograph and rest.
