赤坂弥生学習室, Archaeological museum in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan

Akasaka Yayoi Gakushushitsu is an archaeological museum inside the Hatsukoe Community Center in Miura, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It displays artifacts recovered from the Akasaka site, a Yayoi period settlement that once stood on a plateau nearby.

The Akasaka site was a large settlement during the late Yayoi period, occupied by people who left behind pottery, stone tools, and food remains. The learning room opened in 2001 to bring together the finds from more than 20 excavation campaigns carried out over the years.

The facility is inside the Hatsukoe Community Center and is open during regular daytime hours, with a closure over the New Year period. It is reachable on foot from Misakiguchi Station in about 15 minutes, or by bus to the Miyata stop in a few minutes.

Among the roughly 150 objects on display, some are organic remains such as shellfish, animal bones, and plant material recovered from dwelling pits. These finds are uncommon in Japanese archaeological sites because organic matter rarely survives, making this collection worth a closer look.
