Arakogawa Park, Public park in Minato-ku, Nagoya, Japan.
Arakogawa Park features approximately 1,000 cherry trees along the Arako River, creating seasonal displays with lavender gardens covering 3,300 square meters containing around 5,000 lavender plants.
The park was developed as part of Nagoya's urban planning initiative to provide accessible natural retreat spaces within the city's infrastructure and promote environmental awareness among residents.
The park hosts the annual Lavender Festival in June and cherry blossom illuminations from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm during sakura season, featuring local concerts and traditional craft workshops.
The park operates daily with free admission, accessible via Aonami Line to Arakogawa-koen Station with a three-minute walk, offering wheelchair access and Wi-Fi in the Garden Plaza area.
During cherry blossom season, visitors can walk through the 'Sakura no Tonnel', a tunnel of blooming cherry trees that creates reflections on the river's surface below.
