Yuppo no Sato, One-day onsen facility in Nasushiobara, Japan
Yuppo no Sato is a day-use hot spring facility in Nasushiobara where visitors can soak their feet in warm thermal waters without staying overnight. The complex features two 30-meter footbaths arranged around a central viewing pond, with benches and pebble-lined floors designed to massage your feet.
The facility opened in 2006 as a way to showcase the thermal resources of Shiobara Hot Spring to the public. Its creation marked an effort to increase access to the region's hot spring heritage.
The name Yuppo no Sato reflects the local hot spring heritage, with monuments to literary figures scattered across the grounds that connect visitors to the area's poetic past. Walking through these spaces, you experience how thermal waters have inspired local culture for generations.
Entry requires a small fee and the facility operates seasonally from spring through fall, making it best to visit during these months. Wear shoes you do not mind getting wet, as the pathways around the water features can be damp and slippery.
Visitors can taste Insendo thermal water and watch the Kanketsusen geyser erupt, two features rarely found elsewhere in the region. These natural phenomena result from the area's distinctive underground geology.
