The cylindrical white and black banded tower rises 40 meters above the Baltic Sea coast, featuring a red lantern at its summit.
Built in 1796, the lighthouse ranks as the third oldest structure along the Baltic Sea coastline and underwent complete reconstruction in 1953.
The lighthouse functions as a central element of Lithuania's maritime heritage, representing centuries of seafaring traditions in the Baltic region.
The structure maintains a light range of 18 nautical miles and operates with an Iso W 6s characteristic for maritime navigation.
The original lighting system utilized six bronze reflectors, which were later replaced by thirteen silver-brass plates combined with kerosene lamps.
