Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit, Vilnius, Eastern Orthodox church in Old Town, Lithuania
The Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit features ornate Baroque architecture with a 49-meter-high tower and traditional Byzantine elements integrated into its structure.
Built in 1567 as a wooden structure, the church underwent reconstruction between 1749 and 1753 under architect Johann Christoph Glaubitz following fire damage.
The church interior contains an iconostasis with gold filigree details and houses the preserved remains of three 14th-century martyrs: Anthony, John, and Eustathius.
Located at Ausros Vartu 10 in Vilnius, the church functions as the main Orthodox religious center in Lithuania with regular services.
The structure connects to the only two functioning Orthodox monasteries in Lithuania: the Holy Spirit monastery for men and Saint Mary Magdalene for women.
