The property was owned by Duke Peter Birons of Courland before passing to the von Lieven family, who held it through multiple generations. This succession reflected the shifting control of estates among Baltic nobility over centuries.

The manor has served as a children's home since 1939, functioning as a social landmark where generations of families have found shelter within its walls. Its rococo entrance doors from the 18th century remain visible, reflecting the skilled craftsmanship of an earlier era.

The site functions as a children's home and is not open to public visiting, so viewers should observe from the street and respect the privacy of residents. The facade is most visible from the access road that approaches the property.
