Liepa manor, Manor house in Liepa Parish, Cēsis Municipality, Latvia
Liepa manor is a 19th-century manor house in Cēsis Municipality with symmetrical proportions and traditional architectural features. The building sits within parkland planted with linden, oak, and maple trees, with the Little Ellite stream running through the grounds.
The Liepa estate was established in 1672 when six villages were separated from the Cēsu county of Cēsis Castle. The manor house structure visible today was built during the 19th century.
From 1919 to 1970, the manor building functioned as the Liepa primary school, serving as an educational center for the local community.
The grounds are accessible to visitors year-round who wish to explore the parkland and surrounding trees. Comfortable walking shoes are advisable, as paths wind through the planted areas.
A plan from 1787 reveals an elaborate system of waterways, bridges, and ponds that once shaped the estate layout. Several of these water features remain visible across the grounds today.
